This test is just to make sure you won't have a heart attack in training. In reality, they will smoke you all day and all night and then require you to take the test in the morning with no sleep.

Marcus did push ups like a SEAL went much closer down to the ground. If March performed proper push-ups they would have been half as many. Same for the sit-ups, he let his elbows hit his knees rather than doing a full. 90 degrees. Wimp cheater

You guys are thinking this is hard the people in navy doing this are getting like 20-30 pullups about 8 minutes on the swim abt 70-90 pushups and ant 70-80 sit-ups he is a trained swimmer obviously he did better in swim any decent fit man can beat the test it id just for conditioning to get in shape for navy activities

This dude is clearly in much better shape than I've ever been.....but if I remember my Admy days correctly......we were only allowed to rest in the up position in situps. And his push-ups didn't appear to be far enough down. He still would have passed doing 83 of thos almost down enough push-ups. He still might have got .ore than 60

I completely understand how difficult pull-ups can be for someone that never does them, but I was really surprised how exhausting they were for him. Swimmers usually have insane lats, I figured it would translate at least a little.

As a former collegiate runner and a somewhat competitive post collegiate runner I could have come close to passing this test 3 yrs ago (age 30) before I stopped running without training specifically for it. I was swimming an hour non stop 4 times a week. Could run 2 miles in under 10 min (I was running 10+ miles daily), and do 60-80 push-ups non stop. I think most pull ups I’ve ever done was 6-10, not sure about sit-ups. I think my biggest struggle would have been pull-ups and sit-ups without dedicating time to improving on these 2 exercises.

The thing with special forces is that these screening tests are mostly to see if you have a reasonable chance to get through the physical hardships of the service. The super star athletes might ace those tests, but how will their psyche deal with no medals, no praise, and having to survive in harsh weather conditions for months on end all while executing a difficult mission where your life is at risk at all times? I think people would be surprised at how "normal" a lot of the special force people are. Most top athletes are used to get pampered, get lots of food, sleep, and physical therapy to be in the shape they are. Lots of special force soldiers don't look physically impressive at all, but their minds are tougher than steel.

This is difficult at any age. The fact that he had a good mental attitude doing it helps. The push-ups we're hard to watch because he struggled with them because his form wasn't as good as it could have been. I hope his shoulders are okay watching that right side go up higher than the left was painful. Great effort! 💪

Don't think Rogan's partial push ups would pass screening. Chins? Most wouldn't pass. No slam...Rogan's an amazing aerobic animal. The swimming was crazy. But, you've got to train and focus on all requirements if you want to pass military standards for these teams whether it is the SEALs, Rangers, PJs, etc.

This a great video, for those looking to go I want to point out some key aspects. Swim: no flip turns allowed. Push-ups: imagine someone is holding their fist under your chest on the ground, your chest needs to be able to touch the fist on each rep or they won’t count. Sit-ups: shoulders all the way to the ground or it won’t count. Push-ups, chin above the bar and your legs can’t be used at all. Otherwise he did a really solid job

The fact that an world record holding Olympic athlete is doing 9 pull ups, and what is probably (arguably) up there as one of toughest PT tests only requires 10 pull ups, makes me feel a little bit better about my only 1 pull up.

Impossible not to qualify for pull ups. No time limit. Take a min per rep to realign focus and strength. What you saw there was rushing and over-exhaustion.
